As a sponsor of the American Immigration Lawyers Association(AILA) we are required to know a great deal about most Visa types and the individuals who apply for them. Amongst the most common is the J1 or Visa.
What is the J-1 Visa?
A J-1 Visa is for an individual who is coming to the United States to enroll in work or education-based exchange programs. The United States remains one of the top educational centers in the world and its important we get the brightest minds in the world here.
What are J-1 Insurnce Requirements?
Unlike other Visa types a J-1 individual must carry certain insurance requirements they are:
- Medical benefits of at least $100,000 per accident or illness
- A deductible not to exceed $500
- Repatriation of remains in the amount of $2500
- Medical Evacuation of the J1 individual to his come country in the amount of $50,000
At E&M Global Insurance we believe that a policy that just has these limits is unsatisfactory. We make sure our students are insured to the highest quality and to what they expect back at home. For example, we make sure that our clients have at least 1,000,000 of coverage for a hospital.
For a J-1 individual school is enough of a challenge. Having the correct insurance program for their needs shouldn’t be an issue.
